Poet or Ham

Do I need to say more?

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all, except atheists

or

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands: one nation indivisible under science with liberty and justice for all but the dim witted and religious

or

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under Santa, indivisible, with presents and candy for all.

or

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation of greed and bigots, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all but the poor and homosexuals

Or

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands: one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all.”

  2. Sing it. Shout it. Repeat it.

Tattoo it on my chest, to them a mark of the beast, to me a mark of pride.

  3. The Pledge of Allegiance was the origin of the Nazi salute, and the swastika -although an ancient symbol- was used to represent crossed S-shapes for “socialism” under the National Socialist German Workers Party.

Francis Bellamy (cousin of author Edward Bellamy) was a socialist in the Nationalism movement and authored the Pledge of Allegiance (1892), the origin of the stiff-armed salute adopted much later by the National Socialist German Workers Party. See the work of the symbologist Dr. Rex Curry.

Today, the flag symbolizes authoritarianism in the USA. The historical facts above explain the enormous size and scope of government today, and the USA’s police state, and why it is growing so rapidly. They are reasons for minarchy: massive reductions in government, taxation, spending and socialism.

    • and our founding fathers were slave owners. but that doesn’t mean freedom for all is a bad idea. Sure, our ancestors were a bunch of greedy fools but that doesn’t mean we can’t take what they did get right and make it better. Sometimes we need to stop and think about the process, not just focus on the outcome and other times we need celebrate what is good and wonderful right now. And right now is good time to love, no matter who it is, it is very good time for love, acceptance and if need be, a little shove in the right direction. Legalize humanity

  4. I believe in love, brotherhood, freedom, and justice for all. Do you agree with that?

    • Did you miss the point? What would anyone say to your question? If you had asked Stalin, Mao and Hitler your question what would they have said? That is a rhetorical question because most everyone else here probably knows the answer. That you do not seem to understand it is a tad disturbing because it shows that you commit the same faults of logic that were displayed by Stalin, Mao, Hitler and their followers. They droned on about brotherhood, freedom and justice for all in “glorious” songs, pompous speeches and PLEDGES (the USA and Francis Bellamy and Edward Bellamy and the Pledge of Allegiance influenced their dogma, symbols and rituals). That they set and hold all the worst records for the socialist Wholecaust (of which the Holocaust was a part) is exactly the point.

  5. i do miss your point. and you missed mine. Hitler, Stalin, and Mao used dogma and ideology, fear and half truths to misguide their citizens. They did not believe in love or freedom or justice or in sharing or helping people out. I can call a turd a cake, but it is still a shit. They used language to influence people to great acts of evil. Is it wrong then, to use language to influence people to great acts of compassion and kindness?

Or is socialism wrong because people have been tricked into oppression when promised community? Hurting people is what is wrong. Lording over people and killing people is what is wrong. Not allowing people to believe or say what they want is what is wrong. Language, namely English is inherently oppressive to women, atheists, gays, and people of color. but I wouldn’t toss the whole language out. Guns have killed thousands of innocent lives in hands of mad men but I wouldn’t go without one when walking in bear country.

I am not afraid of my government. I’m afraid of my country’s people. I’m afraid that greed and self interest have become more important than helping someone in need. I’m afraid that fear will grip their bodies, and leave them silent in the time they should rise up and shout freedom, or love.

my hope is that there will be a war, and no one will bother to show up.

They’ll be planting tomatoes and making love and kissing babies and dancing with their families. My hope is that when someone cuts down a tree they’ll plant 100. and people all over will learn how to be happy sitting in sun after their work is done. I hope that people will not only hear positive words and speak them, but feel them deep in their bodies like a heartbeat.

All humans are capable of great acts of evil. and all humans are capable of great acts goodness. and so I ask, what do you hope for?

  6. and by the way, if i were to ask hitler, stalin, or mao if they believed in love or freedom in the privacy of their office they would have mostly likely laughed their asses off and then killed me

  7. The flag is symbol of freedom to many people. It stands outside of public schools and public libraries as well as war monuments. It may have stains of wrong doing but it also carries the hope of future.
